This is not the first time that Cullman police officers have been accused of animal cruelty.
Four years ago Officer McDonald of the Hanceville City Police Department was called to stop an argument among the children of next door neighbors.
When Officer McDonald arrived at the residence of one of the neighbors, instead of knocking on the door and looking for a parent, he walked into the back yard where the children were at. The family dog, Bo, which was chained to a tree, began to bark upon seeing a strange man walking into the yard where the children were playing. Officer McDonald then drew his police revolver, in front of the children, one in which was mentally disabled, and shot Bo in the head, killing him instantly. Although the incident was reported to the Chief of Police, Junior Flannigan, nothing was done about the incident, which still traumatizes the children and has instilled a deep distrust and fear of Law Enforcement Officers.
Here is a picture of Bo. Click for a larger pic.
